"On this occasion, KLM provided an ordinary flight service. There was little to distinguish it from budget carriers apart from some slick branding. Airport procedures were amateurish and left experienced travellers feeling like they'd just been put back on the school bus."

"CheckIn: KLM offered a very poor check-in system in Berlin and then again in Amsterdam. Amsterdam has introduced a horrendous 'self serve baggage check-in' which caused massive backups and confusion. I was 'trapped' behind passengers who were facing major hurdles while trying to check in their 6-8 suitcases. I refused to use it for the inconvenience and embarrassment it was causing me and my fellow passengers. Overall, I was aghast at the amount of confused and bewildered passengers and the very poor management of KLM passenger crowds. One staff member (responsible for checking boarding passes) was standing a long way inside the aisles where passengers are meant to que. When passengers entered this area, and were found not to have boarding passes, they were asked to leave the area again, forcing them back through crowds of people with their baggage trolleys. I was left feeling anxious, ignored, impatient and very frustrated......and it's not even Christmas time yet!"

"Luggage handling: Please see my comments about the automated 'self service baggage check in' terminal at Amsterdam Schipol. KLM, I prefer to wait less time to be greeted by a smiling KLM staff member's face than I do to wait longer to be greeted by an incomprehensible device which confounds people and leaves them staring blankly at the controls. A memorable experience for all the wrong reasons."
