"BA559 23/10/10
after the 5hour delay (which is fine, i know this happens) i was told by the air staff that british airways would provide accomadation for me at a london hotel as it would be too late to check in at the backpackers i was supposed to be going to by the time we landed.
when landed i was told by ground staff that there was nothing they would do about my accommodation, not even a taxi fare as the tubes and hotel hopper buses had finished. absolutely no help and no suggestions whatsover. and there was no service open at the airport at this time of the night.
caught a bus to a local and apparently cheaper hotel, park inn, and was told that they and every other hotel on this block was fully booked. it was now 2am on the streets of london, a huge suitcase and a young woman not prepared to go into central because of the risks and no guarantee for a bed.
i will not be relying on any information given to me by your air or ground staff again and am completely dissappointed to say the least.
if they had of given me realistic advice i may have been able to make some calls while waiting on the plane to sort out accommodation but had been told not to do anything because the airline will have to sort it."
